Russian-born Artistic Director Yuri Klaz leads the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir in an all-Russian program, featuring Rachmaninoff’s best known choral symphony The Bells. The choir welcomes two guest conductors from Russia: Evgeny Guriev and Sergey Zuev; in addition to musical guests Marni Enns (soprano); Kurt Lehmann (tenor); and Gregory Atkinson (Bass).

This concert explores the rich tradition of German Renaissance and Baroque music from the strong, simple hymns of Luther to the glorious motets and chorales of Prætorius, Schütz, Scheidt and Lassus, ending with the master himself, Johann Sebastian Bach.   

Early instruments will join Camerata Nova for this trip back in time as the group welcomes back harpsichordist Renée de Moissac and the baroque string trio of Claudine St-Arnauld, Debbie Smythe and Carolyn Nagelberg.
